Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Answers taken from the same engineering pack as the product pages. If a number is still pending from engineering, we say so.

Can we replace a Japanese compact motor on the drawing?

Usually yes. Compact K-series codes follow the common 5IK60RGN-CF language. Send a nameplate photo and we confirm drop-in dimensions.

Will a brake survive tens of thousands of cycles per day?

25–200W power-off brakes use Taiwan HWA / Chengdu Ruide units, about 200,000 cycles. Send a daily cycle count and we estimate pad life — that hour figure is an engineering quote, not a slogan.

Seal jaws run hot. Will the motor overheat?

F-class 155°C wire and ADC aluminium housings. If ambient stays above 60°C, ask for high-temperature grease.

Is catalogue IP enough for washdown or a pond?

Standard is IP54/IP55 unless the datasheet says otherwise. Spray, high-pressure or continuous splash should be named so we can offer an OEM higher-IP build. IP68 (20 m) is a custom axis, not assumed on a stock motor.

How much will a fan VFD retrofit save?

Fan power scales roughly with speed cubed. We do not publish an unmetered percentage. Send the nameplate and a run log.

One inverter, many conveyor motors — how do we size?

Inverter kW × 1.5 ≥ the sum of motor kW. One inverter, one motor: inverter kW ≥ motor kW and current ≥ 1.1 × motor current.

Can we run a gear motor above 60 Hz on a VFD?

Normal service should stay below 60 Hz. Above that, noise, vibration and gear wear rise. Inverter-duty motors with a forced fan are for wide speed range, not for overspeeding a standard gearhead.

Is “lifetime grease” real on a high-bay motor?

H-730-1 is sealed for life on standard units. High dust or wet pits still need a duty check.

How fast can a spare ship?

Standing-stock codes: same day from about 100,000 units. Non-stock lead time is confirmed by sales.

What is the warranty?

18 months from dispatch on standard gear motors unless the order confirmation says otherwise. Miswiring and undersizing are diagnosed, then quoted.

OEM private label?

Yes — voltage, shaft, IP, encoder, colour, nameplate. Volume price is a commercial discussion. See distributor & OEM support.
